At Nurtured Nests, we believe caring for your home is essential to caring for your health. Our environmental investigation and testing services help you create harmonious spaces free from harmful chemicals, biological contaminants, and electromagnetic pollution—supporting a safe, healing environment for all who live there.
Nurtured Nests provides independent Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) consulting, investigations, and testing to identify building conditions and environmental exposures that may affect the health of the people who live and work within them.
Indoor environmental concerns are rarely isolated to a single contaminant or condition. Nurtured Nests investigates the property holistically—considering the relationship between the building, its systems, surrounding environmental conditions, potential sources of exposure, and the people who occupy it.
Through onsite visual inspections, field diagnostics, and laboratory testing, we evaluate conditions that may include water damage, microbial contamination, particulates, VOCs and formaldehyde, wildfire and combustion contaminants, hazardous building materials, HVAC and ventilation, water quality, electromagnetic fields, and other environmental concerns.
Testing provides data. Our expertise puts those findings into the context of the building to identify sources, contributing conditions, and priorities for corrective action.
For clients whose health or environmental sensitivities prompted the investigation, we bring an additional layer of advocacy—helping ensure that individual priorities are understood and considered when evaluating the property and determining appropriate next steps.
Nurtured Nests provides an independent perspective. We do not sell remediation services. Our role is to investigate, interpret, advise, and advocate, giving clients the information and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their property.

Environmental concerns vary by property and occupant. Our services are tailored to the conditions of the building, the concerns being investigated, and the needs of the people who occupy it.
There are two ways to engage our environmental consulting expertise.
Environmental Investigation + Testing
Whether you are responding to a known problem, investigating unexplained environmental concerns, evaluating a property, or proactively assessing your home, each investigation is developed around the property and the questions that need to be answered.
We evaluate building conditions, identify potential sources and areas warranting further investigation, and recommend appropriate field measurements and laboratory testing based upon our findings.
Investigations may incorporate indoor air, water, surface, material, moisture, HVAC, particulate, and electromagnetic assessments as appropriate to the property. Testing strategies are selected based on observed conditions and the specific questions the investigation is intended to answer.
Clients receive a comprehensive assessment that brings together field observations, diagnostic findings, laboratory results, and building conditions, with prioritized recommendations for corrective action and improvement.
The objective is not simply to determine whether a contaminant is present, but to understand where it is coming from, what building conditions may be contributing to it, and what should happen next.

Remediation, Restoration + Health Advocacy
When an environmental problem is identified, investigation is only the beginning.
For clients navigating mold, water damage, fire and smoke contamination, chemical exposures, or other environmental concerns, Nurtured Nests provides independent guidance through remediation, restoration, and return to occupancy.
Our approach recognizes that the building and occupant cannot always be considered separately. Individual health considerations, sensitivities, exposure history, and tolerance for materials or environmental conditions may inform remediation precautions, restoration materials, cleaning requirements, and return-to-occupancy planning.
Nurtured Nests serves as the client's advocate throughout this process, helping translate those priorities into actionable requirements for remediation contractors, builders, HVAC professionals, specialty trades, and other members of the project team while coordinating, where appropriate, with the client's healthcare professionals.
Our involvement may include remediation and restoration planning, protocol development, scope and proposal review, contractor and vendor coordination, material evaluation, site observations, clearance considerations, restoration guidance, and pre-occupancy preparation.
The objective is not simply to remove a contaminant. It is to correct contributing building conditions, remediate responsibly, restore thoughtfully, and create an environment appropriate for the people returning to it.
